Coach Kevin is a Peterborough-born martial artist and coach with over 20 years of experience across Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Boxing, Wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, and Mixed Martial Arts. After growing up in competitive sports, he began training Tae Kwon Do at age 11, and during his teenage years expanded his training to include boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and grappling, developing a well-rounded foundation by his mid-teens. In 2011, Kevin became Peterborough’s first professional Muay Thai fighter, competing internationally in the United States and Thailand.

In 2012, Kru Kevin founded Kawartha Combat, creating a training environment centered on technical development, safety, and long-term growth for students of all ages and experience levels. Alongside his work in martial arts, he serves his community as a volunteer firefighter, bringing a calm, safety-first mindset to both training and instruction. Today, his focus is on coaching, mentorship, helping students build confidence, skill, and resilience both on and off the mats.

Coach Kevin holds the rank of Certified Muay Thai Kru through the Sport Authority of Thailand, was  ranked #8 Muay Thai fighter in Canada, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Professor, a Judo Brown Belt, and a two-time Ontario Amateur MMA Champion.

Coach Anna Graham

Anna is a true champion in every sense of the word. She is a multiple-time Canadian Kickboxing Champion who has competed in professional bouts in organizations such as Glory Kickboxing. She has also earned an amateur World Kickboxing Title, solidifying her place among the top female fighters in the world! Anna brings intensity and discipline into every class she teaches. Her coaching style is direct and built to challenge you, pushing you to improve your conditioning, and mental toughness. In addition to her achievements in the ring, Anna is also a mother and a nurse, reflecting her commitment to helping others both inside and outside of the gym. If you’re serious about improving and ready to be pushed, training with Coach Anna's classes will take you to another level!

Chad King

Professor Chad King

With over 40 years of martial arts training and a 3rd-degree black belt under Royler Gracie, Professor Chad is a true master of his craft. Chad has a unique and methodical approach to teaching that helps beginners make sense of Jiu-Jitsu concepts & techniques. His emphasis on fundamental principles and concepts allows students to build a strong foundation, learn in a safe environment & see rapid progress in their development. In addition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Chad holds black belts in Karate and Judo, making him a well-rounded & versatile instructor. His expertise in multiple disciplines gives him a deep understanding of the art of fighting and a unique perspective on how to apply different techniques in different situations. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, Chad's guidance and expertise can help you achieve your martial arts goals and reach new levels of skill and understanding!

Professor Scott Wood

Professor Scott Wood is a 3rd-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with decades of training experience and a calm, methodical approach to coaching. Prior to beginning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Scott spent many years teaching and competing in Tae Kwon Do, working with students of all ages and developing a strong foundation in structured instruction and skill development. A retired Toronto Firefighter and former Outdoor Adventure and Education college professor, he brings a unique and practical skill set to the mats, blending structure, safety, and real-world problem solving into his teaching. His diverse background allows him to coach students from beginner to advanced levels with clarity, patience, and purpose, while emphasizing strong fundamentals and long-term development.

Tom Green

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Coach Tom has been part of the Peterborough community for over 10 years. With more than 20 years of training and competition experience in boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, he brings a deep understanding of the fundamentals and how to develop them properly. Tom is known for his patient, detail-oriented coaching style. He has a strong ability to break techniques down, make small adjustments, and help students truly understand what they’re doing. His classes focus on building solid fundamentals, sharpening technique, and developing confidence at a steady, effective pace. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to refine your skills, Tom creates an environment where you can learn, improve, and progress with clear guidance and support.

Andy Stainthorpe

Coach Andy brings over 30 years of training experience and 20 years of coaching to the mats. He has competed in Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, Wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu, giving him a well-rounded understanding of striking and grappling. His coaching style is high-energy, technical, and rooted in strong fundamentals. Andy blends old-school discipline with a practical, modern approach that works for both beginners and experienced athletes. Whether you're looking to sharpen your technique, improve your conditioning, or push yourself to the next level, Coach Andy creates a focused, motivating environment where hard work and steady progress come first.
